Although I’ve always had a lot to say, since becoming a mum nearly a year ago I find I have even more! Yes, about my son – Coco Pops (not his real name btw!) – what he’s doing, how many nappies I’ve changed today, how he’s just learnt to put one cup inside another. But also about the world in general. Suddenly it really matters to me what’s going on in our country, in our world, politically, socially, spiritually and environmentally; because one day cocopops is going to be and independent part of that world and I need to know he’s got the best shot at it, which is also the reason I strive – some call it worry 😉 – to do the best job of being a mum I possibly can.
So Dan (my husband) gets home from a hard days work and I offload all these scrambled thoughts, and although he is the most patient man ever there was (unless there’s English sport on the telly), I think I ought to give him a break! So if I put my thoughts down here, maybe it will reduce my need for verbal processing…I’m making no guarantees mind you!!
